What they were dealing with.
Kora had 4.2 million active customers across Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal and almost no ability to treat them differently. Every customer received the same promotions and recommendations. Inventory decisions were made manually using last year's data. Stockouts were frequent and customers were leaving for competitors who felt more relevant.
What we built.
We built a customer data platform that unified online and in-store purchase history, then layered a recommendation engine on top that personalises the homepage, email campaigns and promotions for every customer segment. Separately we built a demand forecasting system that generates store-level stock recommendations weekly.
